Meeting Announcement List
The Princeton Joint Chapter, ACM and IEEE Computer Society, maintains an e-mail list for announcements of chapter meetings and other events.
- The average traffic is 1-2 announcements per month.
- The list is moderated, with all functions except subscribe/unsubscribe blocked to protect the privacy of the list members.
- The list owner periodically scrubs the list of dead addresses.
- If your address bounces on a hard/permanent error it will be scrubbed.
- Be sure to add the listserver to your address book.
- If you are not receiving postings from the chapter list server, check with your IT department to make sure they are not filtering out our postings.
Automated Method
To subscribe/unsubscribe from the chapter meeting announcement mailing list, simply send an email from the email account you wish to subscribe/unsubscribe to listserv@listserv.acm.org with one of one of the following commands as the body of your email message:
subscribe PRINCETON-ACM-NOTICE
unsubscribe PRINCETON-ACM-NOTICE
In Case of Problems
If you ever need to contact the human owner of the list (if you have trouble unsubscribing, have questions about the list itself, etc.) send email to princeton-chap-members-request@listserv.acm.org
Job Openings List
From time to time we are asked to send information about job openings to our members. In order to keep that stream of information separate from our meeting announcements and other chapter related news, we set up a list that is exclusively for posting of job related information. The posting rate varies, we sometimes go weeks without a posting and then have two in one day.
The list is moderated, with all functions except subscribe/unsubscribe blocked to protect the privacy of the list members. You can subscribe/unsubscribe as described below. The list owner periodically scrubs the list of dead addresses. If your address bounces on a hard/permanent error it will be scrubbed.
The rules for use of the list are:
- We only post job openings, not positions wanted.
- If you are interested in one of the postings, directly contact the person listed in the posting as the point of contact.
- Do not reply to the posting (it was sent by the list server, not the point of contact for the job.)
- Do not contact any of the ACM officers (they don't have any more information than what was in the posting.)
- Do not request copies of old postings (we do not keep copies.)
- Be sure to add the listserver to your address book.
- If you are not receiving postings from the chapter list server, check with your IT department to make sure they are not filtering out our postings.
If you want to post a job opening:
- Send the posting to princeton-chap-jobs-request@listserv.acm.org.
- Please make sure the posting is self contained, with all contact information.
- All job postings should be ASCII text in the form of an email -- rather than an enclosure.
- We will not proofread the posting.
- We reserve the right to refuse a posting.
Automated Method
To subscribe/unsubscribe from the job openings mailing list, simply send an email from the email account you wish to subscribe/unsubscribe to listserv@listserv.acm.org with one of the following commands as the body of your email message:
subscribe PRINCETON-CHAP-JOBS
unsubscribe PRINCETON-CHAP-JOBS
In Case of Problems
